No Gimmicks to the Gospel
Let us hear the conclusion of the
whole matter: Fear God. and keep his commandments: for this is the
whole duty of man. (Ecclesiastics 12:13)
It is amazing how churches are claiming they have a monopoly on
bringing people into the kingdom of God. They tend to believe they
teach the best word, preach the best sermons, have the best programs,
have the best bus ministry, serve the best food, bring in the most
people, and have the biggest budget. But is that what God wants?
God doesn't want churches to compete. He has enough love to go
around to everyone. God doesn't want His word to be used as a pawn to
get people to go to any specific church. He does, however, wants to
see that none should perish. God wants His word to bring people into
the saving power of Jesus Christ. People think gimmicks will do that.
The Bible says the gospel will do that. Gimmicks and fads fade. The
word of God stands forever.
When the gospel is preached and when Jesus is proclaimed, people
will be saved. And that's no gimmick!
